Because we know that families need options here at Anchor we offer both a full time, four day a week option, and a part time, two day a week option that are highly competitive with tutorials in our area. 

All tuition fees cover the following:

  • Core class instruction: Math, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies

  • All curriculum materials

  • All supplies

  • Classroom technology

  • Classroom equipment

Tuition

Payments are made over twelve months from June to May. All families are required to make their first payment for the year no later than June 15th. Any family that does not pay their first payment by June 15th will forfeit their spot for the upcoming school year.

 

Any family that withdraws their student AFTER August 1st, 2026 will be financially responsible for fulfilling their payment contract for the remainder of the 2026 - 2027 year. If there is an extenuating circumstance (moving out of state, sickness, natural disaster, etc) the family is entitled to request an appeal for this commitment with the board of directors. If a family withdraws their student(s) between June 15th, and August 1st Anchor Academy will not refund for the payments already made for the student.

Tuition Assistance

A limited amount of need-based tuition assistance is available for students in grades PreK – 12th after their family has considered their own resources. Anchor Academy receives no federal funding for the operation of the school; therefore, all approved tuition assistance grants are funded by Anchor itself.

High School A La Carte Classes

High school students $100 per course, per month. Each course is a full credit course that requires no outside instruction from a parent, student, or online resource. Students will be expected to complete homework outside of class for mastery, but there will be no outside instruction required to earn credit for the course. Anchor Academy’s goal is to offer all high school courses required for graduation, however registration with an accredited umbrella school is still required to meet the transcript requirements for the state of Tennessee. If my student was enrolled in public school last year (25 - 26) what do I need to do to withdraw them?

Am I required to enroll my student in an umbrella homeschool program?

A

Fill out the intent to homeschool form and return it to the school district office where your family is currently zoned. If you enroll in an umbrella program they will do this part for you.

A

If your student is in grades K - 8th grade you are not required to enroll him/her in an umbrella home school program. If you choose you may turn in all of your student's attendance and grades independently of an umbrella program. However, enrolling in an umbrella program does make it much easier. 

 

HERE is a link to "all things homeschool" on the state of Tennessee website should you choose to not enroll your student in an umbrella program. 

 

If your student is in grades ninth and tenth you MUST enroll him/her in an umbrella program. 

 

If your student is in PreK you are not required to do anything until he/she reaches Kindergarten.

Q

As the parent what am I responsible for reporting to the state, or umbrella program I select, for my student?

A

You will turn in grades and attendance each semester. Anchor Academy will email you grades and attendance once in December, and once in May. 

 

There are a few things here worth mentioning. 

1. If your child attends school at Anchor he/she is getting six hours of education each day. The state of Tennessee requires that all homeschooled students attend school for four hours one hundred and eighty days a year. Therefore, for each day your student is at Anchor he/she is earning a day and a half of schooling. 

 

2. Just because your student is not at Anchor does not mean he/she is not earning school hours. School can look like a multitude of different activities. Any time a student is actively learning - i.e.; participating in extracurricular activities, participating in church oriented activities, traveling, working, volunteering, and many many other examples, students are learning. Please keep a careful record of ALL student learning your student is involved in throughout the year. 

 

3. Fridays are at home learning days. At home learning days normally consist of real world learning, or field trip Fridays, but Anchor does not normally send home work to do on Fridays. 

 

All of this to say that the attendance that Anchor sends you each semester is highly unlikely the ONLY school hours your student has accrued throughout the semester. PLEASE keep careful records of any and all activities your student participates in during the school year!

Is there a specific umbrella homeschool that we are required to use?

A

No, Anchor Academy does not endorse a specific umbrella program. However, if you have questions about which one you believe would work best for you please let us know. We are happy to tell you the programs that we have experienced great success with in the past!
